It’s amazing how technology moves. Was it not too long ago we had to go to a library – a physical building to look for books?? Then you could call to put your items on hold. Then the library staff would notify you by phone or mail you a notice that your items are HERE! Now! WOW! OPAC! So convenient! 24 7!
Save time and save a lot of hassel. What’s next?? I can’t wait!

Thanksgiving then Black Friday November 28, 2008
I had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My brother fried the turkey the very first time. It was awesome! Well..at the beginning I was kind of nervous. I hear some bad things might happen then I went on youtube and watched more bad things might happen video (stupid me!). So I was making my brother nervous, too. But we were well prepared and we followed the right directions. It turned out very good! Here…
Don’t stare the pictures too long. It might create some “weird” images in your head haaaa~~~ Our Thanksgiving dinner turned out very well. The most important thing is I got to spend time with my family
Then…. I woke up earlier than usual to hit the mall. STUPID! I do this every year not sure why?! I went shopping before coming to work. I spent 2 hours at JCPenny thinking I was able to use my coupon that from their ad but NOT! They could’t honor is until 3 PM! DUH! but I still go some good deals though. Just the thought I couldn’t use my coupon made me a little annoyed… apparently the prices will go up then you can use the coupon. Making any sense to anyone?? NOT ME! Next time should READ before going….
All news were saying how bad this Black Friday would be. Not from what I saw at the mall this morning. I was so suprised people were actuall came out and SHOP! I guess it’s good right?
Thing 13 November 26, 2008
WOW! So many blogs and so little time! I can’t believe there are that many new blogs created each day. And I am now one if them
I took a look at Technorati. When I did a search on Library 2.0 in different ways, it seemed to me the outcomes were all different. I was surprised to see some interesting blogs appear and nothing to do with what I wanted to search on. I think they break down the word “library” and “2.0″ just like any other search. Gotta do the ” “.
I didn’t really have good experience with this one. I think I was overwellmed with all different kind of blogssss… Time to move on to the next one…
Thing #12 November 26, 2008
It’s Del.icio.us! I looked around and I was able to find some interesting information and comments from others. I agree that this tool is great for research assistance. Bookmarking is great but by using this you can go anywhere to see your bookmarks. And tagging is very useful too. I probably won’t use this much as other but I will definitely keep this in mind.
LibraryThing November 26, 2008
Hey! What a great tool! I love this. I start to wonder if I have to keep a record of the books I like or not. Now I can just use LibraryThing! Very convenient.
well… I cataloged 5 books. well… 4 of them are the Twilight saga. Oh! I really want to see the movie but I should wait for a bit so the theater won’t get too crazy with all the school girls screaming…
Though, someone went to see the movie, she said the book is much better. Well of course, aren’t they all??
The 5th book I picked is Marley and Me. I am a dog lover and I really appreciate this book a lot. I read it twice and I cried twice…. just so very touching!
I will definitely keep up with my LibraryThing!
My trip to Cancun Mexico November 26, 2008
My husband and I had a great time in Mexico last week. We couldn’t believe how old it got so fast. I heard we missed the terrible weather we had here. So lucky. We really enjoy our trip. The weather was perfect and because it’s not the peak season so we got to have some privacy in our resort. Not too many people around. I guess the economy doesn’t help the tourism business either. I really hope the economy will get better soon. Well I don’t it won’t be so fast but at least show some sign that we are getting… BETTER.
I will post some pictures to Flickr soon. Wait and see!
Sticker November 12, 2008
I created a sticker for Brownie – my dog. Now, can I buy it?
I found this excercise is quite interesting. I had fun.
#9 Finding Feeds November 6, 2008
Which method of finding feeds did you find easiest to use? Entering URL address is the easiest way for me to use because I use them so often. I just need to go to my favorites then it’s there! Copy and paste! that’s it.
Which was more confusing? Adding pack. I still don’t understand what it does. I have to go back and play around with it again.
And I really like the Bargainist especially the holiday season is coming soon!
RSS Feeds November 5, 2008
I found this a little bit challenge for me. It’s not because it’s difficult to set up a Blogline account or subscribing any of the RSS Feeds. Well…I just don’t get the whole idea of RSS Feeds idea yet. Maybe time will come. But anyway, I subscribed 10 feeds that I am intersted in. They are:
- Abstract Art – award 1 per post pool
- Bargainist (yah! holiday season is coming! need this!)
- Bloglines news
- Design Sponge
- ESPN.com
- The Food Section
- Lottery: Pennsylvania (still hoping there’s one day….)
- CNN.com
- NYT Books
- NYT Fashion & Style
Now…what’s thing #9???
Chase Utley said WHAT? November 1, 2008
I heard it! Right there! I know it’s wrong to say “the word” on LIVE TV. But, hey! please, give him a break. Tell me who never heard that word in their entire life?! I am sure he’s just caught in the moment. Chill people! Who knows how long we have to wait again to have a chance to say this…..again…..
In case you missed it, here it is!
